In the shadowed hall where whispers rest,
Two lovers dreamt of grander quest,
Yet life did halt their cherished plight,
With death, they’d find their wedding night.
John and Lila, bound by fate,
In life they loved, in death they wait,
For death did claim both bride and groom, And in the night, they met their doom.
A castle grand, with moonlit stone,
Where ghostly whispers chill the bone,
They found themselves in spectral grace,
In wedding garb, in death's embrace.
"Beloved John," fair Lila sighed,
"Our dreams deferred, yet love abides."
"My Lila dear," quoth he with glee,
"At last, in death, our souls are free."
Through grand entrance, where shadows play,
Their loved ones’ bones in grand array,
Skeletons clapped, a ghostly throng,
In spectral cheer, they'd waited long.
"Welcome, welcome!" echoes cried,
"To death’s grand feast, where love abides."
Their friends and kin, in bony glee,
Had waited long this sight to see.
A feast was laid, a spectral spread,
Of phantom foods for living dead,
Goblets raised in ghastly cheer,
For love that lasted year to year.
The bride and groom took center stage,
In ghostly waltz, they’d now engage,
To “Monster Mash” their feet did glide,
In spectral dance, side by side.
"To love that spans the chasm wide,
From life to death, where shadows hide,"
The bones did clatter, applause did ring,
As John and Lila’s souls did sing.
And in that grand and eerie place,
With death's cold kiss, and death's embrace,
They found a joy beyond the grave,
In death's dark hall, their love was saved.
John and Lila, hand in hand,
Danced their waltz in shadowed land,
In castle grand, ‘neath moonlight’s sheen,
Their love, in death, was evergreen.
